UPDATE: Standoff on Thompson Near Huestis Ends Peacefully

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A standoff ended peacefully Friday morning. It started around 2:45 A.M. when police went to serve a felony warrant to a man at a home on Thompson near Huestis. The man told police he had a gun and that he would use it. Emergency units were called to the scene, and after several hours, tear gas was deployed into the home. The suspect crawled out of a window onto the roof to try to get away from the tear gas. Police were able to communicate with him, and he then surrendered. No one was injured. The suspect is in custody.

As of early Friday morning, Fort Wayne Police are on the scene of a standoff near the City's downtown. Around 2:45 A.M., police went to serve a warrant to a man at a home on Thompson near Huestis. According to our partners in news at 21 Alive, the man told police he had a gun and that he would use it. He then went back inside the home. Police then called emergency teams to the scene.
