UPDATE: Residents Allowed Back in Homes After Gas Leak in Decatur

ADAMS COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): The Decatur Fire Department reports that residents are now able to return to their homes following Monday night's gas leak.

ORIGINAL STORY:

A gas leak has shutdown a section of U.S. Highway 27 in Adams County.

AEP crews hit a gas line on Decatur's north side around 6:30 p.m. Monday evening. Highway 27 is closed between Washington and 2nd Streets and the following streets are being evacuated: Mix, Master and Lewis.

Residents are being evacuated to Zion Lutheran Church. According to the Decatur Fire Department, it is unknown when the leak will be repaired and portions of US 27 could be shutdown for hours.
