FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne police are conducting an investigation after a body was found Wednesday morning on the southeast side of town. 

Police were called about a man down in the 2900 block of Holton Avenue at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday. Once on the scene, officers found an unresponsive man on Holton Avenue near Colerick Street. The man was pronounced dead on the scene.

After further investigation, detectives discovered several shell casings near the body leading investigators to believe that this will be a shooting scene. Just after 3:00 a.m., Wednesday morning officers did respond to the area of the 3000 block of Reed Street after someone reported hearing multiple gunshots, but officers found nothing.

The Allen County Coroner’s office will conduct an autopsy. Meanwhile, this incident is still being investigated.
