UPDATE: Police Investigating Deaths of 4 in Defiance

DEFIANCE, Ohio (AP): The Defiance Sheriff's Department says four people have died in what is being investigated as a triple murder-suicide.

Officials identified the dead as 68-year-old Robert Garza Sr., his 61-year-old wife, Christine Garza, 42-year-old daughter, Zoila Garza, and granddaughter, 15-year-old Rebecca Garza.

Sheriff David Westrick said Friday that the grandfather apparently was the shooter. The sheriff said Garza had health problems but hasn't determined if that's the motive.

The bodies were discovered Thursday night by a family member who was checking on the welfare of the four near Defiance. The four were last seen Wednesday afternoon.

The sheriff says two bodies were found in one room and two in another.

A handgun apparently used in the shootings was found at the scene.
