UPDATE: Overnight Shooting Victims Connected

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO):  Police believe two gunshot victims are connected following an early morning shooting.

It started on Fort Wayne's northwest side around 12:57 a.m. Tuesday morning when police got a call from someone who said that his friend had been shot.  The shooter drove off in a vehicle with no tail lights. The person then hung up, but police traced the call to the 1300 block of Goshen Ave. south of the Fort Wayne's Children Zoo.  When the police arrived they found blood on an apartment door but couldn't find the victim.

The person who made the emergency call drove the victim to the hospital. The victim has not been identified and remains in critical condition. While investigating the shooting, another victim walked into the hospital with a gunshot wound. Police later identified the second shooting victim as a person of interest.  They're currently listed in fair condition.

Prior to that night, there was a similar call on December 8th, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. regarding shots being fired near the same location. It's believed the person who made that call was the victim of the first shooting.  The shootings remain under investigation.
