UPDATE: One Dead After Pierceton Vehicle Pursuit

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): One person is in custody and another is dead after a Thursday morning vehicle-pursuit in Pierceton. The incident happened 4:30 a.m. on the west side of Pierceton after a traffic stop on State Road 13 near Tower Street.

One of the suspects and driver of the vehicle, 34-year-old Sterling Templeton, was stopped by police on State Road 13. When officers pulled up to the vehicle, he sped off and made a turn onto Market Street. The second suspect, 29-year-old Dalen Ousley of Fort Wayne, was riding in the passenger seat when the car made a sudden stop. Both suspects then fled the vehicle and took off on foot.

Police were able to locate Templeton, but they went on a manhunt to find Ousley. Officers heard a loud gunshot, and later, found him dead near a vacant parking lot, suffering a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Templeton was taken into custody. The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department is still investigating the events that led up to the incident.
