UPDATE: Officers Investigate “Man Down” Monday Morning

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO):  Fort Wayne Police detectives have released some new information regarding a man down investigation.

Around 9:30 a.m., Monday morning, officers were called to The Smoke House Tobacco Outlet on S. Lafayette Street, near E. Dewald on a report of a man down. According to police, the incident appears to be the result of an attempted robbery of the victim who is the owner of the business.

A surveillance camera captured several images of the suspect and police are asking for your help in hopes of being able to identity this person of interest. He is described as a black man, appearing to be right handed. He was last seen wearing a two toned outer jacket that is gray over the sleeves with black covering the bottom half of the sleeves. The suspect was also wearing a red ball cap with some type of emblem on the face of the ball cap.

The victim in this investigation has died. The Allen County Coroner’s office will release his identity at a later time.
