UPDATE: Motorcycle Versus Truck Crash Claims One Life, Victim Identified

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): We now know the identity of the man killed in a motorcycle crash Tuesday. 21-year-old Christopher Burcham, of Fort Wayne, was pronounced dead at the scene just before 1:00 P.M. The Allen County Coroner says Burcham died of blunt force trauma and has ruled his manner of death an accident. Authorities continue to investigate the incident.

ORIGINAL STORY:

One person has died as a result of fiery crash involving a truck and a motorcycle.

It happened Tuesday afternoon around 12:40 at the intersection of Bolton Street and East State Boulevard.

Witnesses told Police, the cyclist was performing wheelees and speeding in the eastbound lanes of State. 

Moments later the bike collided with a pick up truck. The force of the impact ignited the pickup truck.  

The driver and passenger in the truck escaped unharmed.

The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity has not been released.


The accident closed the eastbound lane of State Boulevard from Laverne Avenue to Bolton for about three hours.
