LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): As of early Friday morning, missing woman Jennifer Bitzel of Peru has been found safe. She was located in Rome City, Indiana, by their police department. The case is still active for the LaGrange County Sheriff's Department, who continue to look for Steven Gose. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the suspect is urged to contact the LaGrange County Sheriff's Department or 911. He should still be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. Upon investigation, several individuals have been involved with transporting, hiding, and assisting the suspect in this case. Officers want to remind those that choose to assist the suspect in this case that they are also committing a crime, and each lead on those that are assisting will be looked into and considered for prosecution accordingly.
Police in LaGrange County need help in finding the man responsible for abducting Jennifer Bitzel.
Bitzel, of Peru, was last seen September 18th, around 10:30 p.m. at a residence in Wolcottville. Witness reported that she was hit and forced into a vehicle by Steven Gose. The vehicle is described as a silver, 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix. It has four doors, tinted windows and a sunroof with an Indiana registration reading: 543AIB.
Bitzel’s two young children were left behind at the residence and she has not been seen or heard from since.
The victim is described as a white, 28-year-old woman, around 130 pounds. She is about 5’09” with blue eyes and brown hair. Bitzel may have cuts and bruising to her face. There is a photo below.
In the meantime, police are trying to track down Gose for questioning. He is a 43-year-old white man, with blue eyes, and sandy brown hair. Police believe him to be armed and dangerous, so if you see him do not approach him, but call 911.
