UPDATE: Indiana Conservation Officers Respond to Water Incident in Hancock County

HANCOCK COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): We now know the identity of a person found in water in Hancock County late Monday night. 22-year-old Zachary Wood was pulled from water in New Palestine around 10:00 P.M. by Indiana Conservation Officers. He was taken to a hospital and was pronounced dead shortly after. According to officers, Wood went fishing around 6:00 P.M. and didn’t return, and that is when family members went to the area of the incident to try to find Wood and he was found in the water. More details will come available pending further investigation and autopsy results.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Conservation Officers in Hancock County pulled a body from water late Monday night. It happened around 10:00 P.M. when officers were called to the area of 3500 South CR 500 West in New Palestine for a person in water. When they got to the scene, Hancock County Deputies were able to get the victim out of the water and begin CPR. The person was then taken to a local hospital. The victim’s identity and condition are not available, and Indiana Conservation Officers are still investigating the incident.
