UPDATE: Gas Leak Repaired near Webster and Berry Streets

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Repairs have been completed to the gas leak that caused evacuations of several downtown buildings yesterday. Larry Graham with NIPSCO says the gas has been shut down and repairs have been made.

Original Story:

Police received a call to the intersection of Berry and Webster around 1:45 p.m. this afternoon, in reference to an unmarked gas main being cut.

According to our partners in news at 21 Alive, crews were working a gas line being cut behind the Glenbrook Collision building on Coliseum, when the downtown gas main was cut.

Nearby buildings are being evacuated and traffic is being rerouted. As of right now Harrison is blocked off at Berry and Wayne is also blocked off. Stay tuned to WOWO as we’ll continue to update this story as details become available.
