UPDATE: Fort Wayne Man Killed in U.S. 33 Crash, Identified

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Fort Wayne man killed in an early morning crash on U.S. 33 has been identified.

 

According to the Allen County Coroner 30-year-old Matthew Kever died at the scene of the crash after being hit by a van towing a trailer on U.S. 33 near Carroll Road. Police say around 3:30 a.m., Friday morning, the van was traveling on U.S. 33 when it drifted off the road. The driver of the van tried to over correct after driving off the roadway, that's when Kever was driving his car northbound and could not avoid the collision.

 

The coroner says the cause of death was blunt force trauma and the manner of death has been ruled an accident. Kever is the 15th traffic fatality for Fort Wayne and Allen County in 2014.

 

The driver of the van was not injured.
