UPDATE: Fort Wayne City Council Approves $5.6 Million in Construction

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): TFort Wayne City Council has approved more than $5.6 million in road improvement projects, as part of the 2015 road improvement package. The money will spruce up areas on the northeast and northwest side of town.

According to the Journal Gazette, two out of the three proposed projects were approved for North Highlands and Tower Heights in Fort Wayne.

Wayne Asphalt will work on sidewalks, streets, curbs and ramps on the northwest side of town and Brooks construction will handle construction on the northeast side.

The Journal Gazette reports that each project calls for about 10.5 centerline miles of milling and resurfacing work. Centerline miles refer to the length of a road from its starting point to its end point.

Work will likely finish by August, 2016.
