UPDATE: Fatal Shooting on Hobson Road

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne police are currently investigating a fatal shooting that happened Friday afternoon on Hobson Road, at the Baldwin Creek Apartments.

Police got the call to the apartment complex just after 2:00 p.m. Once on the scene, officers found 21-year-old Johnny Lee Upshaw suffering from a gunshot wound lying near the sidewalk in front of an apartment building.  

Medics took Upshaw to the hospital in critical condition, but upon arriving to the hospital, he was pronounced dead.

According to police, the shooting happened inside one of the nearby apartment buildings.  Detectives are in the process of determining if the shooting occurred inside the apartment building hallway or a specific apartment.  Several witnesses said the possible suspect(s) left the scene in a black colored Dodge Charger. 

Officers found the vehicle, but no one was inside. In the meantime, it will be processed for evidence.

While police were investigating the shooting, a second shooting victim arrived at a local hospital.  The second victim had a minor gunshot wound to the leg.  He was treated and released.  The second victim is currently being interviewed.  Upon conducting the interview, Detectives will determine if the two shootings are related.    

In the meantime, both incidents remain under investigation.
