UPDATE: Elderly Woman’s Death Ruled a Homicide

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The recent death of an elderly woman has been ruled a homicide.

 

78-year-old Diane Woods was pronounced dead Friday evening inside her home on LeSteele Boulevard.


Family members say they were having a hard time reaching her and when they went to visit, they found her unconscious. Paramedics responded around 5:20 p.m., Friday night and pronounced Woods dead on the scene. </span>

 

According to the Allen County Coroner, the cause of death has been determined to be blunt force injury to the head, and the manner of death is homicide.

 

Woods is the 9th homicide victim in Allen County in 2014. 


The investigation is ongoing, however there are no suspects at this time.
