UPDATE: Driver Charged in Pierceton Police Chase

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): We have the very latest into the police chase that took place in Pierceton on Thursday.

Four departments were involved in the vehicle chase and subsequent foot chase, which involved two shots fired. It happened just after 4:30 a.m., Thursday morning when police attempted to pull over a vehicle on State Road 13 in Pierceton.

That vehicle took off and a chase ensued down Market and Tower Streets until it crashed and the suspects continued on foot, firing a shot. Officers quickly subdued 34-year-old Sterling Templeton of Garrett, and the second suspect was found dead a short time later of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in a parking lot on Tower Street. He's been identified as Dalen Ousley of Fort Wayne.

The incident caused a delay Thursday morning at Whitko schools.

Thanks to an armed robbery conviction in 1998, Templeton has been charged with possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon. If convicted, he faces 2 to 12 years in prison.
