UPDATE: Crash in Noble County Takes the Life of Man from Garrett

NOBLE COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): A crash in Noble County has taken the life of a man from Garrett.


According to officers with the Indiana State Police Department the crash occurred around 10:00 a.m., Friday morning near Baseline Road and 600 East. It involved a tank truck and a motorcycle.

Police say the truck,, driven by 62-year-old Richard Smith of LaGrange, was traveling northbound on County Road 600 E when it stopped at the intersection with Baseline Road. The truck proceeded into the intersection. That's when a motorcycle, driven by 39-year-old Merlin Isaac, Jr. of Garrett, came over a hill and hit the truck. As a result, Isaac suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Smith was not injured.


Meanwhile, the crash remains under investigation.
