UPDATE: Victim identified in Tuesday home explosion

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): One person died in a home explosion that happened in Washington Township on November 13.

Multiple fire crews were called to a home on Wallen Road at around 8am for a fire; further details revealed the fire had been caused by an explosion that sent the home’s door across the road and caused the structure to collapse.

Our Partners in News at ABC 21 report a body was found inside the wreckage.

The victim was later identified as Nathan L. Sliger, 55 of Fort Wayne. His cause of death was later determined to be smoke inhalation and thermal burns. His manner of death was rule an accident.

The owner of the home was reportedly an avid gun collector, and smaller ammunition explosions caused problems for firefighters trying to handle the blaze.
