UPDATE: 19-year-old Victim Identified in Bowser Ave. Shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne police are investigating a shooting that happened Tuesday night on the 2900 block of Bowswer Avenue.

According to a press release, shots rang out shortly after 5:30 p.m. Tuesday evening on Bowser Avenue near McKee Street, where 19-year-old Charley Allen Jr. was found in critical condition.

Shots were fired in front of a home and witnesses saw a newer gold impala leaving the scene.

Allen was found lying on the porch of the home, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Some schools were on lock-down Tuesday evening and detectives are trying to track down witnesses for questioning.

Fort Wayne police detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in this investigation by providing information that can lead to the identification of the person or persons responsible for this shooting.
