Underground Blast in Downtown Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind (WOWO): Police and firefighters are on the scene of an explosion in an underground utility vault in downtown Fort Wayne. 

At this time there’s no reason to believe there was any foul play involved, but the blast was powerful enough to blow the manhole cover off of its flange into the street. 

Police have blocked off South Calhoun between Washington and Jefferson while they investigate.
