Two vehicle wreck near Van Wert kills one

VAN WERT, Ohio. (WOWO): A woman from Payne, Ohio was killed in a two-vehicle crash near Van Wert Monday morning.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says Linda Page, 77, was trying to cross U.S. 30 on Liberty Union Road near Van Wert right around 11 a.m. Monday. As her vehicle was crossing it was hit by a westbound car being driven by a woman from Columbus, Ohio.

Paige was taken to Van Wert County Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. The other driver was also taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and alcohol is not a factor in the crash. U.S 30 was closed for a while by Liberty Union Road. The crash is still under investigation.
