Two People Killed in I-69 Double Semi Crash, Identified

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): WOWO news has learned the identities of the two people killed in the double-semi crash on I-69 as Speedway Champion Blaine Miller and his grandson Jeff Shelmadine.

Baer Field Speedway Program Director Bob Koorsen in Fort Wayne has confirmed the two deaths through multiple sources. The two were assisting a broken down semi truck on I-69 southbound near mile marker 316 when the truck they were working on was hit by another semi.

Miller was an accomplished racer and car owner in the Fort Wayne racing scene and Shelmadine was also working his way up the racing ranks.
