Two new names join Allen County Council

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Republicans caucused to fill two vacancies on the Allen County Council last night.

County GOP Chairman Steve Shine tells WOWO News last night’s caucuses were historic in that they were the first time he could recall they had to fill two vacancies on the same public body.

Ken Fries was chosen to replace former Councilman-At-Large Justin Busch, who was chosen to replace the recently-retired State Senator David Long earlier this month, and Kyle Kerley was the choice to replace resigning Councilman-At-Large Eric Tippmann.

Fries will be sworn in today, while Kerley won’t take over until Tipmman’s resignation becomes effective on January 1st.
