Two Men Arrested in Connection with Home Invasion in Auburn

AUBURN, Ind. (WOWO): Two men were arrested Saturday after allegedly forcing their way into a home at gunpoint and robbing the home owners.

Indiana State Police say 21-year-old Austin Coleman of Waterloo and 20-year-old Thomas Crago of Angola forced their way into a residence in the 800 block of Hazel Street in Auburn between 5:00 and 5:30 a.m.

Once inside, one of the men held the occupants in the living room at gunpoint while the other went through the home. Police say the suspects then left the residence with the owner’s firearm, an undisclosed amount of cash, and other valuables. None of the home's occupants were injured.

A break in the case came just about two hours later when the DeKalb County Sheriff Department investigated a vehicle crash in the area of County Roads 1 and 28, outside of Corunna. They found items in the crashed vehicle that fit the description of those taken from the residence. Coleman and Crago were both arrested and taken to the DeKalb County Jail. Both men now face a number of charges.
