Two killed in Noble County crash

CROMWELL, Ind. (WOWO): A young couple from Kimmell were killed in a two-vehicle head-on crash in Noble County last night.

According to the Noble County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened on County Road 200 North, east of County Road 100 West, near Cromwell at about 6:20pm when a gray SUV that was westbound suddenly spun sideways on the road, ending up in the path of another SUV driven by 76-year-old James Borden of Fort Wayne.

The crash badly damaged both vehicles. Borden was taken to a nearby hospital, while the two people in the other SUV – 22-year-old Ethan Kiser and his 21-year-old wife, Shawna – were pronounced dead at the scene.

Kiser was a Ligonier police officer.

Police did not say why Kiser’s vehicle suddenly spun, nor did they clarify if the icy weather was a factor.
