DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO) – Around 12:23 am early Friday morning, the Dekalb County Sheriff’s Department responded to a crash on the 5700 block of State Road 8 in Butler.

Officers indicate that two teen-aged juveniles were driving eastbound on State Road 8 in a Dodge Ram.  The driver advised that he thought he struck something and lost control of the truck on the ice covered road.  The truck entered a ditch where it became airborne and flew over three separate driveways.  After hitting the third driveway, the truck overturned, rolled and struck a tree.  The vehicle ended up landing upright and facing west.

The driver and passenger were both wearing their seat belts.  The driver suffered a broken leg and the passenger suffered head lacerations.

Detectives determined that the speed combined with the roadway conditions contributed to the crash.
