Two Injured in Clinton Street Crash

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Just after 3 a.m. Sunday, Fort Wayne Police responded to the 3300 block of South Clinton street after reports of a single vehicle crash with injuries.

Once on the scene, officers found the driver and a front seat passenger both unconscious and trapped inside the vehicle. Both victims were extricated from the vehicle and transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Upon arriving at the hospital, one of the victims was upgraded to serious condition.

Preliminary reports indicate the vehicle was traveling southbound on South Clinton Street prior to the crash. The vehicle then left the east side of the roadway and struck the front porch of a residence. There were people inside the home at the time of the crash, but none of the occupants were injured.

Investigators reported high speed was a contributing factor in the crash. It is unknown at this time if alcohol or drugs were contributing factors.
