FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO):  The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana have confirmed two tornadoes have resulted from Saturday’s storms.  They note the findings are preliminary and subject to change pending further review.

Luckily no one was hurt in either of the tornadoes.

The first confirmed tornado was across extreme southeast Elkhart county, while the second happened in north central Allen County.

In Allen County, the EF-0 tornado touched down south of Flutter Rd. and Young Rd., near North Park Community Church.  They say it caused large tree limb damage and flattened an extensive area of corn.  Sporadic damage continued to the northeast where a pine tree was uprooted at a home on Eby Rd.

They also say a home had minor shingle damage.  About a mile away, a wooden swing set was pushed over in a yard on Notestine Rd.  In all, the tornado lasted around 7 minutes.

In Syracuse, the brief EF-0 tornado touched down west of CR 133 south of US-6.  Two homes reported minor structural damage and snapped limbs of trees.  A flattened corn field was also reported about a tenth of a mile from that location.  In this case, the tornado was only around for about a minute.

The damage reports from the National Weather Service report the Syracuse tornado was 50 yards in width, while the Fort Wayne tornado was 70 yards wide.
