Two dead and four injured in early Saturday morning crash

NOBLE COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO):  The Noble County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call stating there was a wrong-way driver on State Road 3 around 12:19 a.m. Saturday morning.  When deputies arrived on the scene, they discovered a two car collision.

Upon investigation, deputies discovered that a 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan, driven by Carolyn Gibson, of Garrett, had been driving northbound on the southbound lane of State Road 3 and struck another vehicle.  Gibson was transported to Parkview Noble Hospital and her passenger Amy Mosley, 42 of Avilla was transported to Parkview Regional for their injuries.

Gibson hit a 2006 Honda Pilot driven by Pau Thang, of Fort Wayne.  Thang was heading southbound on State Road 3 and tried to avoid the collision, but was unable to.  The Impact caused the Honda Pilot to enter the median and came to a rest on the driver’s side.  Passengers in the Pilot were Wawa Kyi, 25, Lai Lar Bee, 27 and Sa Dit, 26, all from Fort Wayne.  Thang and Kyi were both transported to Parkview Regional for injuries.  Lai Lar Bee and Sa Dit were both pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the Noble County Sheriff’s Department and the Indiana State Police.  Alcohol was believed to be a factor in the crash and sort of criminal action is pending further investigation.
