TSA Chief Pistole Expected to Lead Anderson U.

ANDERSON, Ind. (AP) _ The retiring head of the Transportation Security Administration is expected to become the next president of Anderson University.
 
The university announced Thursday its presidential search committee will recommend the board of trustees elect John Pistole president when it meets Oct. 27.The choice would need to be ratified by the General Assembly of the Church of God in June 2015.
 
Pistole, an Anderson native, is a graduate of the private Christian university and the Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis. 
 
He announced Thursday he'll retire from government at the end of this year after being TSA administrator for four and a half years. Before that, he spent 26 years with the FBI.
 
Pistole would succeed James Edwards as president of the university located about 30 miles northeast of Indianapolis.
