Traffic Stop in Whitley County Yields Millions of Dollars worth of Cocaine

WHITLEY COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne truck driver was arrested over the weekend after police found 38 kilograms of cocaine, following a traffic stop on US 30 near Columbia City.

 

Saturday night, officers with the Indiana State Police Department observed the driver of a semi tractor trailer commit a traffic violation. It was also noticed, that the driver, 69-year-old Guadalupe Quintanilla, had an equipment violation.


The driver was stopped and Quintanilla gave permission for Troopers to conduct a search. A State Police K-9 was summoned and during the search, 38 individually wrapped packages containing a white powder, later identified as cocaine, were found. This amount has an approximate street value of between three and four million dollars. Quintanilla was taken to the Whitley County Jail without bond.
