Traffic Stop in Kendallville Leads to Meth Arrest

Kendallville, IN-A 23 year old Kendallville woman was arrested last night on multiple meth related charges following a traffic stop initiated by the Indiana State Police in the city of Kendallville. 

According to Trooper John Silver, at approximately 9:15 p.m. last night, he stopped a vehicle on US 6 at Fairview Boulevard for a traffic infraction. During the course of the stop and his interaction with the driver, Talisa N. Buitron and her 20 year old female passenger, Silver utilized the pseudoephedrine data tracking system available to him to develop an investigatory lead. 

As a result, he obtained consent to search Buitron’s vehicle and during the search, he discovered several items commonly used in the production of methamphetamine. A bag allegedly containing meth and a smoking device were also found inside of her purse. Buitron was taken to and incarcerated in the Noble County Jail on preliminary charges of: 

• Possession of Precursors, Class C Felony 
• Possession of Methamphetamine, Class D Felony 
• Possession of Paraphernalia, Class A Misdemeanor 

The Noble County Prosecutor’s Office will file formal charges against Buitron who is still incarcerated. The Kendallville Police Department assisted Silver at the scene. Buitron’s passenger was not charged at the time.
