INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO): Indianapolis Homeland Security Director Gary Coons says storm damage on the city's southwest side doesn't rise to the level of FEMA involvement. Coons toured damage again in the Cameron Meadows subdivision Wednesday. He says he returned to the site to support homeowners seeking advice. Numerous homes are being inspected by insurance adjusters and construction crews.
High winds cut a clear damage line in the area Tuesday afternoon.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Dave Tucek confirms that an EF-1 tornado hit the area. Affected homes in the subdivision have damaged roofs, garages, windows and lots of downed trees.
