Tobacco Store Owner Killed During Attempted Robbery, Identified

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A tobacco store owner killed during an attempted robbery Monday morning has been identified as 44-year-old Antonio Lopez Nino.

 

According to the Allen County Coroner, Nino died from gunshot wounds and his death has been ruled as a homicide.

 

The Fort Wayne man was shot around 9:30 a.m., Monday morning. That’s when officers were called to The Smoke House Tobacco Outlet on S. Lafayette Street. Once on the scene, the found the man in critical condition. He was taken to the hospital where he later on died. 

 

A surveillance camera captured several images of the suspect and police are asking for your help in hopes of being able to identity him. He’s described as a black man, appearing to be right handed. He was last seen wearing a two toned outer jacket that is gray over the sleeves with black covering the bottom half of the sleeves. The suspect was also wearing a red ball cap.
