Tip Sends Two Marshall Co. Women to Jail

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): Indiana State Police along with other law enforcement agencies were lead via a tip to an apartment building in Culver to find a stolen car and a woman wanted on a warrant. Officers got to the apartment complex and found the stolen vehicle in the parking lot. Troopers spoke with a woman, 25-year-old Courtney Owens, who was living in an apartment and who gave police permission to search for 24-year-old Kayla Belue, wanted on the warrant. Belue was found hiding under a bed. Officers got a search warrant for the apartment and found items that tested positive for heroin, baggies that tested positive for meth, and drug paraphernalia. Officials say the apartment is located within a federal housing complex, which elevates the seriousness of the drug charges.  Belue and Owens were both arrested and taken to the Marshall County Jail. Both face multiple felony charges including possession of meth within 1000 feet of a federal housing complex, possession of a narcotic, and possession of stolen property.
