INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Ticket prices are going up for this year's Indiana State Fair.
General admission tickets for the August fair will be $12 up from $10 last year. Advance ticket prices went up $1 to $8. The Indianapolis Star reports the last time ticket prices were increased was 2012. Fair organizers say ticket sales account for 80 percent of its revenue.
There are other changes this year too. The giant cheese sculpture will move from the Pioneer Our Land Pavilion to the Purdue Extension Ag/Hort Building. And this year will be the first time alcoholic beverages will be sold at the Coliseum's four ticketed concerts.
There also will be a free medieval jousting show and a lounge where fairgoers can recharge cellphone batteries.
The fair runs from Aug. 7-23.
