Three People Dead after Early Morning Car Crash in Wells County

WELLS COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): Three people are dead after a Saturday morning car crash in Wells County.
According to our partners in news at 21 Alive, the crash happened on State Road 1 north of County Road 1100 North.
Police say around 4:45 a.m., Rebecca Prentice was driving herself and two passengers, Paul Penrod and Karen Smith to the Fort Wayne International Airport. That’s when a car driven by Anthony Dager, crossed the centerline and caused the two vehicles to crash head on.
Prentice and Penrod were pronounced dead on the scene and Smith was airlifted to a nearby hospital where she later on died.
Dager was also taken to the Hospital, but his condition is currently unknown. As of right now, police believe alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash.
