Three Hurt in DeKalb County Crash

DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): Three people were hurt, one seriously, in a two-car crash in DeKalb County Saturday evening.

The Sheriff's Office says 82-year-old Bill Walters of Waterloo, who's a volunteer firefighter, was responding to a medical emergency call when his Ford pickup slammed into a disabled Honda Civic parked on the road at the intersection of County Roads 31 and 28 at about 6:30pm. A third vehicle was parked in front of the Civic, trying to help its driver, 35-year-old Paulus Sheets of Waterloo, jump-start it. It was also hit in the crash.

Walters was hospitalized with a possible broken leg, Sheets suffered cuts to the nose and face. The third vehicle's owner, 36-year-old Ricki Wiliamson of Waterloo, didn't disclose any injuries. Walters and Sheets' vehicles were completely destroyed.
