Three Arrested in Death of Indiana Gun Shop Owner

HAYDEN, Ind. (AP) – Police in southern Indiana say three Indianapolis men have been arrested in the shooting death of a firearms dealer and theft of dozens of guns from his shop.

Jennings County sheriff's Maj. Jerry Shepherd says the three men were arrested on murder and robbery charges at an Indianapolis home Monday night. The charges stem from the death of 61-year-old Scott Maxie, who was found shot in the head Sunday night at his gun shop in a rural area near the Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge.

Shepherd tells The Tribune of Seymour that four guns among the 47 believed stolen from Maxie's gun shop were found during a search of the Indianapolis home.

Shepherd says all three men were jailed without bond.
