FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): If you saw someone wearing neon green and picking up trash on the side of the road this weekend, you’re not alone.
Thousands of people were out and about Saturday morning, participating in the Great American Cleanup.
Our partners in news at 21Alive report that Fort Wayne has participated in the annual event for more than 25 years, and this year volunteers picked up at least 75,000 tons of trash, including 134 broken televisions and almost 1500 abandoned tires.
More than 5,800 people showed up to help.
