The Winds Of Change Come To Wells County

The wind farm in Wells County is a lock.  The planning commission yesterday approved the plan that will construct 87 wind turbines over 20,300 acres of the County.  The company constructing the wind farm Apex Wind Energy submitted changes to their original plan and in turn the Wells County Concerned Citizens a group that was opposed to the plan dropped their appeal.  Some of the changes will increase the distance they can put a turbine from a building from 1000 feet to 1200 feet they will also reduce the amount of noise created by the turbines.  Apex plans to put in 87 479 foot tall turbines between now and this time in 2013 in the southern part of the County.
