INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO) – A bat was flying inside of Bankers Life Fieldhouse during the February 7th basketball game between the Indiana Pacers and the Los Angeles Clipper.

The bat is no longer present at the facility and it is unknown if the bat had rabies.  The Indiana State Department of Health says that there is no danger of having rabies unless someone has had direct skin contact with a rabid animal.

There have been no reports of anyone having direct contact with the bat.  As a precautionary measure, ISDH indicates that anyone who may have touched the bat is urged to call the Indiana State Department of Health or contact a healthcare provider to receive rabies vaccinations.

For more information about rabies visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website.
