GRANT COUNTY Ind. (WOWO): A Poneto teen was killed in Grant County on Sunday night in a crash near 8300 E and Grant County Rd. 200 N.

Around 10 p.m. police say 19-year-old Luke Boughman was driving along Grand County Rd. 200 when it when into a ditch and hit a utility pole. The car rolled at least one time and police say he was not wearing a seat belt.

Boughman was pronounced dead at the scene. One of the passengers, 17-year-old Kelsea Tropser was transported to Marion General Hospital with minor injuries. She had her seat belt on and Trooper Weston Shanks believes that is what prevented her from suffering more serious injuries. There was one more passenger in the vehicle who was uninjured.

Boughwan is thought to have been distracted while driving. The crash is still under investigation.
