FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo will have at least one new attraction next year.

Two male Tasmanian Devils, named Milton and Mischief, arrived at the zoo over the weekend.

They’ll be part of the zoo’s 2017 season. The zoo is one of only six in the US chosen to receive Tasmanian Devils through the “Save the Tasmanian Devil Program,” which is run by the Australian Government.

The program is set up to fight a type of cancer known as Facial Tumor Disease, which has wiped out near 70 percent of the wild Tasmanian Devil population in the past decade. The ones that arrived in Fort Wayne are disease-free and part of an “insurance population” for the endangered species.
