FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): One of the cutest days in Fort Wayne is just a week away.

Dogs and cats all over Northeast Indiana will gather at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 18 and 19, for the Northern Indiana Pet Expo.

More than 20 shelters and rescues will be at the large adoption event with available pets.

Animal lovers who aren’t looking to adopt are also welcome. There will be educational sessions and opportunities to talk to vets and groomers each day. Expo-goers can also watch performing cats and dogs.

Kids can ride rescued horses for a small donation, adopt balloon animals and play on hay bales at the Kid’s Activity Zone.

Spayed or neutered dogs and cats over the age of 1 are allowed in with a non-retractable leash or carrier. Pet owners must sign a general release agreement before pets can be admitted.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Allen County SPCA.
