Syracuse Man Arrested After Allegedly Sending Threatening Letters

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): Wednesday afternoon, Syracuse police arrested Jason Wilson for allegedly sending threatening letters to himself, two other people and to the Kohl’s department store in Warsaw.

Syracuse police began investigating threatening letters being received by Wilson on December 5th. Also on the same day, a female Bremen resident received a letter threatening her safety as well.

On December 6th, an alarm went off at Wilson’s home. When police arrived on the scene, they discovered a vehicle on fire in the driveway and they found Wilson in the backyard.

Wilson told the officers that he noticed his truck on fire and then someone tried to breakout his sliding glass window to get inside. Wilson then said the suspects got away. Officers and K-9 units searched the area and located no one else around. On Saturday December 7th, Wilson and the female in Bremen both again received threatening letters that were turned over to police.

After following up on several leads and interviewing numerous witnesses it was determined that Wilson sent the threatening letters to himself, the female, her father in Bremen and also to the Kohl's department store in Warsaw where the female works.

40-year-old Wilson was then arrested for 2 counts of Intimidation as Class “D” Felonies and 1 count of False Informing as a Misdemeanor. He was taken to the Kosciusko County Jail where he was booked on those charges. The investigation is still on going and may result in more charges being filed.
