Suspicious Police Impersonator

FORT WAYNE, Ind (WOWO): The Allen County Sheriff’s Department released the following statement this afternoon in regards to a recent suspicious police impersonator reported on Dupont Road:

The Allen County Sheriff’s Department is currently investigating a report made on 4/5/2013 by a female stating she was pulled over by a police impersonator.  On 3/23/2013 at 9:00 pm the victim reported being stopped by white car with red and blue lights on I69 at Dupont Road.  A male exited the vehicle carrying a clipboard and wearing an unidentifiable uniform.  He then approached the vehicle and stated to the victim that her license plate was expired.  The suspect then tried to coax her out of the vehicle to show her the plate.  At that point, the victim pulled away from the scene.  The suspect never attempted to stop her again after she pulled away. 

The suspect is described as a young male Hispanic approximately 6 foot tall.  His car is described as being white with red and blue lights.  No other description was given for the vehicle.  This incident remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department.

THE SUSPECT DESCRIPTION DOES NOT MATCH THE DESCRIPTION GIVEN OUT BY PARKVIEW HOSPITIAL EARLIER IN THE WEEK.
