Suspended Officer Bisard to Stay in Allen County Jail

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ A suspended Indianapolis police officer who was arrested on drunken driving charges while awaiting trial in connection with a fatal 2010 crash will remain in jail.

Allen Superior Court Judge Allen Surbeck ordered David Bisard held without bond during a hearing Thursday in Fort Wayne. The 2010 crash case was moved there because of extensive publicity in central Indiana.

Marion County Prosecutor’s Office spokeswoman Peg McLeish says Surbeck ordered Bisard held until his trial.

Bisard faces an October trial for the 2010 crash in which his patrol car hit two stopped motorcycles, killing one man and seriously injuring two other people. Bisard had been free on bond and kept his driver’s license until it was suspended last week.
