Suspect Wanted for Killing of Man Trying to Calm Dispute in NW Ohio

WAUSEON, Ohio (AP):  Authorities are on the hunt for a suspect who police say shot a man for trying to keep him away from his estranged wife in northwest Ohio.

The Toledo Blade newspaper reports 27-year-old Joshua McJilton was fatally shot Saturday.

Police say a 38-year-old suspect had stalked his wife and was waiting for her outside a pool hall in Wauseon. When she came out, the man wedged his sport utility vehicle so close to her car that she couldn't get away.

Authorities say McJilton stepped in to get the man to move away. But the suspect pulled a gun and shot McJilton, killing him.

The man left his SUV and fled on foot. His estranged wife wasn't hurt.
