DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): The suspect wanted after a manhunt in DeKalb County has been arrested.
On May 29, the manhunt began after a DeKalb County Sheriff’s Deputy performed a traffic stop near Grabill. The officer was talking with the male driver and male passenger inside the vehicle, when all of a sudden the driver sped off.
The Deputy was struck with the driver’s door, but was not seriously injured.
Multiple police agencies chased the vehicle, but the pursuit came to an end when the vehicle went off SR 1 near the Allen/DeKalb County line and into a field. Both the driver and passenger took off running.
Officers deployed K9’s and a drone. They even conducted a helicopter search, but the suspects were not located and thus the manhunt was called off.
